Project "CyberTeens Platform"
from the NGO "Cybersecurity Scientific Association of Ukraine"
The purpose of the CyberTeens project is to raise the awareness of schoolchildren about cyber hygiene issues through an online educational platform, which will contribute to their protection in the information space from social and digital threats, cyber fraudsters and extortionists, etc., and the corresponding support of their psychosocial well-being.
Main objectives
- To develop and launch an online platform for learning cyber hygiene and supporting schoolchildren.
- To develop high-quality teaching and methodical materials for individual education of middle and high school students, as well as appropriate teenage content (videos, tests, comics, etc.).
- To involve at least 50 schools and 10 partners, including Ministries, private and public institutions.
- To train at least 1,000 middle and high school students with certificates of completion of the cyber hygiene course.
- Do develop a project development strategy for further dissemination of results.
Components of project success:
Adapted high-quality materials for teaching schoolchildren, taking into account their age, needs and teenage trends
It is high-quality and interesting materials (videos, tests, comics, games) that will be the key to successful mastering of educational courses and the level of awareness of schoolchildren regarding digital security. After training, schoolchildren will know the rules of safe use of applications, will be able to resist social influences, bullying, etc., and recognize fake information, which is very relevant in war conditions.
A bright and easy-to-use online platform for school students
This platform is filled with various educational materials. In addition to educational and methodical materials, the platform will additionally present scenarios of possible effects on schoolchildren, incidents and common situations that teenagers often find themselves in. Thus, the platform will become a useful place where schoolchildren can not only learn, but also get answers to emerging questions, as well as consult if necessary through the feedback form.
Popularization of the platform in schools throughout Ukraine
This is especially relevant in territorial communities where many internally displaced persons live, de-occupied territories and remote regions where schoolchildren have limited access to online educational resources. The dissemination of information about the platform takes place by involving the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, representatives of education in the regions and local authorities, schools and all other interested partners who take care of the problems of the vulnerable population.
Project stages:
Development of educational and methodological support for the course (differentiated for older and middle-aged students): 1-3 months
Development of an educational online platform: 1-3 months
Platform quality and security testing: 3 month
Launch, implementation and popularization of the developed online platform: 4-5 months
Launch of online training on the platform: 6-9 months
